Hello folks!
We hope you're all enjoying summer, even if the weather is too hot to even think of leather! Even so, it is now only 4 months before our second Leather Weekend in Athens and we are getting more excited as the time approaches!
You may know already that the programme of the weekend has been ready for months now. We are also considering some additional events, mainly on Saturday afternoon, in collaboration with local queer and kink communities and venues. We will update you in due time if we agree on to enrich the programme and make the weekend even more exciting.
There is also the possibility that some venues may change (such as the Sunday lunch venue), in which case we will also update you in due time. The events themselves, however, will not change and we already encourage people who plan to attend to register online for the Saturday brunch and/or Sunday lunch, so that we have a good sense of the number of people attending and ensure a correct booking.
The 2nd Athens Leather Weekend already includes:
social events / drinks in established, classic gay venues, such as the city's renowned bear bar, Big Bar Athens. Big Bar has always been a space open to leather and all sorts of kink - they used to run their own leather events in the past - and they've always welcomed us to their venue.
clubbing nights in new, aspiring queer spaces of the city, such as SMUT Athens, currently the most trending venue of its type, with regular guest DJs from central Europe (Berlin) and with separate dark rooms, cages, play area.
brunch, lunch, coffee and drinks in queer or queer-friendly venues in the areas of Gkazi, Kerameikos, Metaxourgio and Psirri: these are some of hte the city's major LGBTQ+ areas but they also include or are adjacent to historic areas of Athens - giving you the chance to also visit touristic sites of the city during a weekend of kink.
Even if we have received a lot of interest in the event so far, from new visitors as well as those who visited last year, it would be very useful to us if we get an even clearer sense of how many people will join us in November. For this reason, we would be grateful if you would like to:
add yourselves to our Facebook event (as either 'interested' or, even better, 'going'). At the time of writing, 113 people have already added themselves to this event! If you would also like to circulate the event further, that would be great.

In order to do that, you will need to add yourselves as 'interested' in our event after you scroll down the list of events in the 'Explore' tab of hte app. How further down you need to scroll depending on your location. We wish it was more user-friendly than that, but it's how this app operates.
we recently also started a BLUF event, where you can add yourselves there too. Again, we'd be very happy if you'd like to circulate the event to fellow BLUF members.
Finally, some points to highlight about the event:
for this year as well, there will be no weekend wristbands or day passes. We will operate on a pay-at-venue basis. There will be online tickets for the SMUT event, which will be made available nearer the date of the event.
the focus of our event may be on gay leather cis men, but this does not mean that this is an exclusive community or event. All fetishes and genders are welcome.
for those too shy to travel to our events in gear: there will be changing areas in all night venues, so you can arrive in your civvies and put on your outfit there.
